Introduction

What is Vintage Architectural Mesh?

Vintage Architectural Mesh refers to metal mesh products with a decorative finish featuring a unique vintage tone, typically applied to stainless steel surfaces. These finishes are primarily used for interior decorations and are available in various stainless steel grades, including the most widely used SS304, the budget-friendly SS201, and the higher grade options SS316 and SS316L.

Using advanced plating techniques, copper and its alloy family, such as brass and bronze, are applied to create a distinctive antique appearance.

This type of mesh is not limited to woven wire mesh, it also includes architectural welded mesh, expanded mesh, and perforated metal sheets designed for architectural applications.

However, here, we focus on woven wire mesh crafted using a pre-crimping technique. This process involves high-tensile-strength stainless steel wires that pass through specifically designed tooling made from hardened alloys. This tooling shapes the wires into partially flattened decorative surfaces or other unique decorative forms.

These decorative stainless steel woven wires are highly favored by architects and designers for their aesthetic appeal. For this reason, the product is also known as designer wire mesh or designer metals.

Explanation of the Pattern Code: METART-WW26E2816

"WW26" belongs to our architectural woven wire mesh series, specifically the WW26 family. This series features decorative crimped wire with a flattened surface combined with regularly crimped stainless steel wires arranged horizontally. The mesh is designed with varying wire densities and openings to create unique aesthetic effects.

The letter "E" indicates this is an economical variant compared to the original design.

The number "2" signifies that both warp and weft wires (commonly referred to as vertical and horizontal wires) are made from wires with a nominal diameter of 2 mm. The actual measured diameter is approximately 1.95 mm.

The number "816" represents the rectangular opening size, nominally 8x16 mm. The actual measured opening is approximately 7.5x15.5 mm, but for simplicity, it is referred to as 8x16 mm.
