Introduction

WHAT IS DVA MESH AND WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU?

DVA mesh, short for Diminished Vision Aluminium Mesh, is a versatile security door infill material known by various names, including one-way vision mesh, 1-way vision mesh, limited vision mesh, and restricted vision mesh.

This stylish security screen mesh boasts a distinctive and highly regarded feature: it offers clear visibility from the interior to the exterior, while effectively preventing external observers from peering into the enclosed space. This unique attribute earns it the moniker 'one-way vision mesh,' making it an exceptional choice for optimizing privacy within your residential environment.

Simultaneously, it facilitates the unhindered circulation of fresh air, ensuring a well-ventilated and comfortable living space.

As a manufacturer of wire mesh and perforated sheets, METART BUILDING TECH CO., LTD produces and supplies a whole series of security wire mesh and flywire mesh products. To enhance our product offerings, METART BUILDING TECH proudly introduces the security screen mesh series, including DVA and HDVA mesh under our esteemed brand, 'SCREEN TEC'. This strategic move aligns with our commitment to delivering premium solutions in the realm of building technology.

With 'SCREEN TEC', we extend our dedication to manufacturing, innovation, and quality, offering customers a trusted name for superior security wire mesh and security perforated mesh series.

HDVA (HEAVY DVA MESH) - A SIGNIFICANT ADVANCEMENT IN PRIVACY & SECURITY SCREEN DOOR SOLUTIONS.

HDVA security mesh, an acronym for Heavy Duty DVA Aluminium Security Mesh, represents a reinforced and robust version of its lighter counterpart, the Light DVA Mesh. Crafted from solid aluminum panels, Heavy DVA Mesh is engineered for excellence in applications demanding heightened security and privacy. Its prominence is particularly notable in Australia, where the market for security wire mesh thrives.

In the Australian market, security screen doors made from this remarkable HDVA Mesh are often promoted as 'X Guard Security Screens', X Gard, Vision-Guard, or Vision-Gard Screens.

This branding highlights its capacity to offer maximum security and privacy for screen doors, Xceed other security wire mesh options, and Xcels most insect screen products available in the market.

SOLID ALUMINIUM CONSTRUCTION

The core material of Heavy Duty DVA mesh consists of solid aluminum sheeting. This choice of material imparts a high degree of strength and durability to the mesh, making it a prime candidate for demanding applications.

INNOVATIVE EXPANSION & PERFORATIONS

During the manufacturing process, the mesh undergoes a meticulous expansion and perforation procedure. This results in the creation of countless scale-shaped small bumps, a distinctive feature that elevates its performance. These bumps serve a dual purpose: they augment the original thickness of the sheet by approximately 1mm while significantly enhancing its overall strength, rigidity, and toughness. Moreover, these minute yet strategically placed irregularities contribute to the mesh's exceptional privacy capabilities.

VERSATILE APPLICATIONS

HDVA security mesh finds its niche in a multitude of applications. Notably, it shines as a preferred material for frontdoor security door infill mesh, where it reinforces the integrity of doors while maintaining privacy. Furthermore, it excels as a privacy screen mesh, lending itself to installations in residential, commercial, and industrial settings where confidentiality is paramount.

In conclusion, DVA mesh, particularly the heavy-duty variant, represents a pinnacle in privacy and security screen door solutions. Its solid structure, innovative perforations, and versatile applications stand as a testament to engineering ingenuity in addressing the ever-growing need for enhanced security and privacy in various settings.

"METART BUILDING TECH" launched 2 different thickness options for this heavy DVA screen mesh to meet the different requirements of the Australian market.

Option A (#HDVA182030)

1.8mm thickness before punching and powder coating, approx 1.95-2mm after coating, the overall thickness of the screen mesh is 3mm

Option B (#HDVA121424):

1.2mm thickness before punching and powder coating, approx 1.35-1.4mm after coating, the overall thickness of the mesh is 2.4mm.

The thickness we are referring to has 3 different measurements.

The first one is the thickness before punching and expansion which is the original thickness of the flat aluminium sheet.

The second figure is the approximate thickness after powder coating measured from the edge where was not expanded upwards.

The third measurement is the overall thickness of this HDVA security mesh including the scale-shaped bumps.

Heavy Duty DVA mesh passes most of the Australian standards for the security door industry including knife shear and 480 hours of salt spray.

Based on its one-way vision property, heavy-duty DVA aluminium mesh is a great choice for security screen doors, current steel fence privacy screen mesh, school privacy fencing, swimming pool privacy screen panels, etc.

Knife Shear Test: PASS ( For #HDVA182030)

What is a Knife Shear Test and How to Carry out a Knife Shear Test?

The invention of the Knife Shear Test is to assess the robustness of different kinds of security mesh, mimicking a situation where a potential intruder employs a knife or a sharp implement. This examination entails the application of mechanical pressure utilizing a heavy-duty knife on the security mesh under scrutiny.

To execute the Knife Shear Test, the specimen under examination is securely positioned within a designated test frame. The procedure involves marking a straight line approximately 250±5 mm in length at the center of the test specimen. This line aligns with the path that offers the least resistance within the material.

An apparatus that adheres to the specifications outlined in Section 8 of AS5041-2003 is employed. A precision trimming knife is placed at the starting point of the marked line. With a controlled vertical force of 150±5N, the knife is drawn smoothly downward. Simultaneously, a controlled horizontal force of up to 350N is applied. This process is carried out at a steady draw speed of 6.0±1.0mm/sec.

In the event that the trimming knife encounters an obstruction during the draw, the combined forces are sustained for a duration of 20 seconds at the 350N force level. Should the blade continue to encounter resistance, the cut is considered finalized.

To ensure comprehensive assessment, the aforementioned procedures are conducted three times on the same specimen and along the same draw line. For each iteration, a new trimming blade is utilized to maintain accuracy and consistency throughout the testing process.
