Introduction

Alloy 20 wire mesh, also known as Incoloy® 20 wire mesh and Carpenter® 20 wire mesh, is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy woven wire. This super alloy, which also includes copper and molybdenum, is popular in the production of gasoline, solvents, explosives, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and food, and synthetic materials. Alloy 20 wire mesh has excellent resistance to corrosion, crevice corrosion, and pitting. Thus, Alloy 20 mesh is perfect for applications around sulfuric, phosphoric, and nitric acids.

Due to its high nickel content (32-38%), there is some disagreement about whether Alloy 20 is a nickel or a stainless steel alloy. No matter what side of the discussion you fall on, it is clear that Alloy 20 wire mesh is an excellent choice for a wide variety of industries and applications.

Alloy 20 wire mesh meets or exceeds different industry standards including a multitude of ASTM, ASME, ISO, and DIN standards. TIG, MIG, and SAW welding can be used on Alloy 20 wire mesh.
