DEFINITION OF DECORATIVE MESH

Decorative mesh refers to any type of mesh grid that is decorative and ornamental for interior and exterior claddings. It is designed and manufactured with fancy patterns and involves intricate fabricating techniques. The manufacturing of decorative mesh includes weaving, knitting, chain linking, punching and welding. Only if it is ornamental and meet the esthetic and funtionality needs of the residential or commercial space, the mesh can be clarified as decorative mesh.

HOW IS "METART-WW51" WIRE MESH PRODUCED?

METART-WW51 is a pre-crimped woven wire strip for architectural use. Adopting 3mm wide x 1.4mm thick metal strips for both warp and weft directions, this decorative woven wire mesh offers sufficient rigidity and stability to the screen structure. 

Through intricately designed crimping tooling, the wire strips are pre-made to have irregularly shaped crimps. The wires are placed at different spacing to achieve a random square hole design. 

But if you observe this architectural woven wire pattern closely, you can still find some patterns throughout the irregular geometrical combinations.

Basically, it is repeating 36 openings, including 4 square holes 9x9mm at four corners, 16 small 5x5mm square holes in the middle, and 16 units of 5x9mm slot holes surrounding the 5mm opening groups. A simple repeat of his design makes the whole pattern.

The default pattern of this code is a square shaped wire mesh design. Whereas if you need something more fancy, you can consider the "diamond cut" patterns. The architectural wire mesh panels are cut out diagonally from a regular big sheet, This cut out will generate many wastes of the materials, which makes it more expensive than regular straight cut pattern.

SUITABLE RAW MATERIALS FOR "METART-WW51"

The most popular and widely used raw material to produce this wire mesh code is always stainless steel series.

AISI 304 - The default material to fabricate this mesh, all the samples in our factory is made of 304 grade of stainless steel. This standard of stainless steel has a pretty good corrosion resistance property. It is widely used for kitchen and industrial application. For interior metal cladding projects, AISI 304 grade is good enough for most of the project, especially after they are plated by copper or copper alloy, or titanium PVD plated.

AISI 316 - For projects with a stringent requirement, a marine grade stainless steel level is always demanded. Then you can consider AISI316 grade as your first choice, unless other harsh environments that require other nickel based special alloys.

SS201 - The most cost effective options for interior metal decoration only. It is not recommended, but we can supply that if customers insist in purchasing this grade of stainless steel. But it is better to get it coated or plated before using to protect it from corrosion.
