Introduction

Bushfire mesh is also called ember wire mesh which is generally used as a protective mesh in both residential and commercial buildings that are prone to bushfire risks against bushfire embers.
Based on the regulations of the Australia Standard AS3959-2009 Construction buildings in bushfire-prone areas, the corrosion-resistant screen mesh that is equal to or less than 2mm aperture and made of non-combustible material can meet the highest Bush Fire Attach Level (BAL) requirement.

The flat sheet bushfire protective wire mesh ranges from 9x9Mesh to 14x14Mesh in cut-to-size panels. Material can be either stainless steel 304 or marine grade stainless steel 316 based on different environments.

BAL – 12.5 (increasing level of ember attack with a heat flux up to 12.5kW/m²)
BAL – 19 (increasing level of ember attack and ignition of debris with a heat flux up to 19 kW/m²)
BAL – 29 (increasing level of ember attack and ignition of debris with a heat flux up to 29 kW/m²)
BAL – 40 (increasing level of ember attack and ignition of debris with a heat flux up to 40 kW/m² and increased likelihood of exposure to flames)
BAL – FZ (direct exposure to the flames from the fire front in addition to heat flux greater than 40 kW/m² and ember attach)
